Familiarise yourself with watercolour painting and build your technical skillbase. This class is suitable for both beginners and intermediate watercolourists.
In this class you will learn warm up exercises, traditional painting techniques such as, the basics of botanical painting and creating perspective with a graded wash, and also how to utilise masking and layering as a contemporary compositional tool. 

 

ABOUT THE TUTOR:

Kohl is a practicing artist working predominantly in Auckland. She received her BFA from Whitecliffe College of Arts and Design. Kohl works with a variety of mediums, ranging from watercolour paintings to interactive living installations. The content of her work often falls within the purview of Ecology, Globalism and Relational Aesthetics. Recently Kohl has applied her watercolour prowess to the field of fabric design and is releasing a collection of floral shoes in collaboration with Merchant. She was also awarded First Place in the 2017 Estuary Art and Ecology Prize.
