Sophie is the Exhibitions and Collections Lead at the Govett-Brewster. Prior to her role in New Plymouth, she was Senior Exhibitions Curator at the Serpentine Galleries in London, during which time she curated the opening exhibition for the second building by Adrián Villar Rojas: Today We Reboot The Planet.

Sophie has also held positions as a curator at Tate Britain, for the Australian Pavilion at the Venice Biennale, at Artspace Sydney and was Head of Exhibitions at the Biennale of Sydney. She has been worked with a number of influential and well known artists including Marina Abramovic, Haim Steinbach, Rosemarie Trockel, Thomas Schütte, Klara Lidén, Wolfgang Tillmans, Richard Hamilton, Michelangelo Pistoletto, Luke Fowler and Gustav Metzger.
